Prior to beginning his homeowner advocacy in 2006, Shane practiced law in the areas of natural resources, real estate, and product liability law, including the representation of Johnson & Johnson in large latex glove product liability cases. 

Shane has presented numerous Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses and CAMICB courses regarding all aspects of construction defect legislation and litigation. Recognized by Super Lawyers®, Law Week Colorado, Lawyers of Distinction, Best Lawyers, and recently selected to the 2024 “Top 50 Lawyers in America” list, Shane has testified numerous times before the Colorado Supreme Court and Colorado General Assembly on construction defect issues.  As a lead negotiator for Build Our Homes Right, Shane is also directly involved with Colorado legislative efforts and bill drafting on the topic. 

Shane attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where he obtained his B.S. in Speech with honors in 1999. After working in the marketing department for Vail Resorts, Shane obtained his J.D. with honors from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2004.

Fun Fact: Shane can solve a Rubik’s Cube in less than one minute and twenty seconds.
